Research & Policy Advisory

The BOBP-IGO undertakes research on issues of topical importance and provides policy advisories. The core research value of the Organisation is the problem solving approach providing actionable inputs to the concerned agencies. Our diverse research portfolio includes fisheries management, livelihoods and Safety at sea, aquaculture, and women in fisheries, fishing technology among others. To this endeavour, the BOBP-IGO works with the agencies from the regional governments and in collaboration with international agencies such as FAO, UNDP, GEF, the World Bank, GIZ, etc. In addition, BOBP-IGO provides technical support to other organizations on issues of regional and national importance as mandated.
