OBJECTIVES

1. To assess the health of the fisheries resources and the ecosystem in the Palk Bay region of India and Sri Lanka and identify the challenges.
2. To examine the existing fisheries governance frameworks and management approaches in India and Sri Lanka and identify the gaps.
3. To assess the behavioural dimensions of the fishers on resource use and evaluate the existing as well as possible management and livelihood options.
4. To evolve evidence-based fisheries management plan and actionable strategies for sustainable fisheries and livelihoods in the Palk Bay region
