OBJECTIVES
- To assess the health of the fisheries resources and the ecosystem in the Palk Bay region of India and Sri Lanka and identify the challenges.
- To examine the existing fisheries governance frameworks and management approaches in India and Sri Lanka and identify the gaps.
- To assess the behavioural dimensions of the fishers on resource use and evaluate the existing as well as possible management and livelihood options.
- To evolve evidence-based fisheries management plan and actionable strategies for sustainable fisheries and livelihoods in the Palk Bay region
