The BOBP-IGO provides internship for the University students of life sciences, social sciences or natural sciences, or any other related disciplines,interested to work on the core areas of the IGO, viz., regional fisheries management, ecosystem conservation and livelihoods and occupational safety.
The students will get an opportunity to undertake inter-disciplinary research on cross-country issues and acquire hands-on knowledge on the working of an inter-governmental organization.
Eligibility
- The internships are open to individuals in the member-countries of the BOBP-IGO (Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka).
- Only students affiliated with Public/Private Universities, R&D institutions, Think Tanks, NGOs, Civil Society organisations, etc. with the mandate undertake internship as a part of a recognized academic program shall be eligible.
- Women candidates are encouraged to apply.
Privileges
- The interns will get an opportunity to work alongside and under the guidance of a panel of advisers, comprising eminent scientists / subject matter specialists from the region and from across the globe, with whom, they will have scope of networking, beyond their internship period.
- The Interns will have access to the library and other digital resources of the IGO.
- The IGO will meet the research contingencies of the interns, who work on any of its current research themes.
- The Interns can also work on their own research problems, within the overall mandate of the IGO.
Terms / Process
- Screening of the applications received from students through their Head of the Department/Organization, will be done by an expert committee and the Secretariat will intimate the selected persons directly.
- The selected interns can choose to work both virtually as well as physically at the premises of BOBP. Overseas students shall plan to have fully-online internship, tailor-made to such students, in consultation with their respective academic supervisor.
